What is the process to Shadow a Physician?
Because of regulatory requirements, we do not provide brief one or two-day shadowing or observation opportunities. Shadowing or observation experiences with commitments of 10 days or greater may be considered by the Dean of the Renaissance School of Medicine (RSOM), or the Dean’s delegate if the shadowing experience advances the aims and mission of the RSOM. Such programs must have formalized goals and objectives for the observers involved. Preferential selection will be applied for existing Stony Brook University undergraduate and graduate students over external candidates.
