Holiday Calendar

(a) The State has designated Lincoln's Birthday & Election Day as floating holidays in 2026 for State employees in certain bargaining units (CSEA, MC and PEF).

(b) The day after Thanksgiving has been contractually designated as a float holiday by the University President for UUP only, in lieu of Lincoln's Birthday.

(c) July 4th falls on a Saturday and will not be observed on another day.  Employees whose pass day falls on Saturday will receive an additional holiday to be used on an alternate date.

Part-time classified employees who work on July 3rd will be credited with holiday time if July 4th is their pass day.

Only employees who work on July 4th will be eligible for holiday pay.

PART-TIME CIVIL SERVICE EMPLOYEES' ASSOCIATION (CSEA) & PUBLIC EMPLOYEES FEDERATION (PEF) EMPLOYEES

• Who are eligible to observe holidays and float holidays are entitled to observe only those holidays that fall on days when they are regularly scheduled to work or required to work.
• Float Holidays are accrued in time and are not “paid holidays.”
• The period of time to change holiday designation from pay to time for holidays is April 1st through May 15th.

UNITED UNIVERSITY PROFESSIONS EMPLOYEES (UUP)

• UUP part-time employees will receive a prorated holiday based on their FTE percentage.
• Election Day is a fixed holiday.
• Lincoln's Birthday is not an observed holiday.
• The day after Thanksgiving is observed as a Float Holiday.
• Money in lieu of the holiday time applies to all but the day after Thanksgiving, which is a float holiday.
• The period of time to change holiday designation from pay to time for holidays is April 1st to May 15th.
